You as a MEiT Project Manager will:
- Lead cutting-edge Information Management, Information Technology, Electronic Safety and Security systems infrastructure for our new healthcare facility construction project, creating construction schedules with the Project Superintendent that integrate technology and security installations seamlessly with building systems and trades
- Drive financial management by preparing accurate, timely billings for IMIT and Electronic Safety & Security subcontractor work and monitoring project costs to deliver exceptional value and performance
- Champion technical excellence by coordinating IMIT and security subcontractors and consultants, ensuring work exceeds healthcare facility standards, building codes, privacy regulations, security requirements, and infection control requirements
- Be the go-to construction lead for IMIT and security systems, proactively coordinating delivery and performance of healthcare IT infrastructure and security system installations while maintaining comprehensive records of site conditions, equipment locations, and technical specifications
- Orchestrate complex construction projects involving data/telecom infrastructure installations, network systems deployment, server room build-outs, EMR system infrastructure, medical imaging (PACS) infrastructure, integrated nurse call systems, building automation, access control systems, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, duress alarm systems, electronic key management, perimeter security, and cutting-edge IT equipment installations
- Lead dynamic project meetings with IMIT, security subcontractors and trades, drive scheduling decisions, manage costs, and solve challenging coordination issues in our fast-paced new construction environment
- Serve as the trusted construction liaison for the owner's IT, clinical planning, and security teams, ensuring IMIT and security installations meet future operational and safety requirements
- Shape project success by establishing construction procedures, coordination protocols, and performance measures that guarantee outstanding IMIT and security system installations and timely deliverables to stakeholders
- Master the construction coordination and commissioning of sophisticated IMIT and security systems including structured cabling installations, network equipment placement, wireless system deployment, data center construction, clinical information system infrastructure, medical device connectivity, access control systems, video surveillance networks, intrusion detection systems, and integrated security platforms through meticulous subcontractor coordination, testing, verification and training
- Collaborate strategically with design consultants, IT planners, security consultants, privacy/security teams, and IMIT subcontractors to deliver integrated technology and security installations that meet project milestones
- Drive construction excellence through proper sequencing and coordination of IMIT and Electronic Safety & Security infrastructure within the overall construction schedule
- Ensure integration between security systems, building automation, fire alarm systems, and IT networks for comprehensive facility management and emergency response capabilities
Is this the right role for you?
- You're a proven construction manager with 8-10 years managing complex IMIT and Electronic Safety & Security construction projects in healthcare or institutional new construction environments
- You're a strategic thinker with construction expertise coordinating IT infrastructure installations, electronic security systems, technology deployments, and ground-up construction projects, coupled with strong knowledge of healthcare compliance standards (CSA, NBC, PHSA guidelines, FIPPA, PHIPA requirements, security and life safety codes)
- You excel at juggling multiple high-priority construction activities and coordinating complex trade interactions including security system integrators in fast-paced new construction projects
- You're a seasoned construction professional comfortable making critical decisions and managing trades in new construction environments with aggressive schedules and complex coordination requirements
- You possess comprehensive construction knowledge of healthcare IT infrastructure installations including data center construction, network system deployments, structured cabling (Category 6/6A, fiber optics), wireless infrastructure, medical equipment rough-ins, telecommunications pathways, and VoIP system installations
- You have strong experience with electronic safety and security systems including access control platforms, video surveillance systems (CCTV/IP cameras), intrusion detection, duress alarm systems, electronic key management, visitor management systems, perimeter security, and integrated security management platforms
- You're passionate about healthcare construction and experienced coordinating EMR infrastructure, PACS installations, LIS equipment rooms, pharmacy systems infrastructure, clinical integration systems, and security systems in new facilities
- You understand construction requirements for healthcare cybersecurity infrastructure, network segmentation, medical device installations, BAS integration, nurse call systems, RTLS infrastructure, and security system integration
- You're familiar with fire alarm system integration, emergency communication systems, and mass notification systems in healthcare environments
- You're well-versed in coordinating IMIT and security system installations with mechanical, electrical, and architectural trades in new construction
- Professional designations (P.Eng, CET, PMP, Gold Seal, LEED AP, PSP, CPP) are highly valued
