Your Role

We're looking for a motivated and safety-focused Arborist Tree Climber / Utility Arborist to join our crew. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with solid climbing experience, practical arboricultural knowledge, and a passion for working outdoors. You'll be part of a skilled team performing everything from fine pruning and technical removals to utility line clearing and vegetation management near energized electrical apparatus.

What You'll Do

  • Perform a variety of arboriculture services, including climbing, pruning, and technical tree removals.
  • Rig, prune, or remove tree branches and woody vegetation that are in proximity to or could contact energized electrical equipment.
  • Conduct condition assessments within electrical system rights-of-way to determine work requirements.
  • Safely operate chainsaws, pruners, chippers, stump grinders, and other site-specific and mechanized equipment.
  • Use climbing systems and aerial devices (on- and off-road) to work safely at heights in urban, rural, and off-road locations.
  • Operate and transport equipment, including snow machines, ATVs, and large tracked aerial devices for remote or off-highway work.
  • Secure authorization to perform work with the general public, utility customers, government agencies, First Nations communities, and landowner associations.
  • Drive company vehicles and trailers to and from job sites (where qualified).
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety, professionalism, and excellence.
  • Respond to emergency situations as required and work in all types of weather conditions.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in urban forestry climbing and/or line clearing (required).
  • Strong practical knowledge of tree biology, biomechanics, identification, and assessment.
  • Competence in technical report writing and a thorough understanding of arboricultural practices and industry standards.
  • Valid G Class driver's license and clean driver's abstract (required); DZ/AZ license is a strong asset.
  • ISA Arborist Certification and/or Utility Arborist Certification (in good standing or working toward) are strong assets.
  • Current certifications (or willingness to obtain): Working at Heights, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, Book 7 Traffic Control, and Chainsaw Certification.
  • Previous experience operating or supervising a crew is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Desire and ability to invest in continued learning, training, and professional development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
