Job DescriptionPosition Summary
ServiceNow is seeking a Director, Government Affairs and Public Policy – Canada, a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing the company's government relations and public policy strategy across all levels of government in Canada, with a primary focus on the federal government.
This individual will lead ServiceNow's engagement with policymakers, regulators, and industry associations to advance our policy priorities in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity, digital government, and data governance. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to company executives, providing strategic insights on policy developments that impact ServiceNow's business operations and growth in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead ServiceNow's government relations and public policy strategy across federal, provincial, and municipal governments, ensuring alignment with the company's global objectives and Canadian business priorities.
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Members of Parliament and Provincial Parliaments, ministers, senior government officials, regulators, and political advisors across key departments and agencies, both federally and provincially.
Monitor, analyze, and influence policy and regulatory developments in Canada related to:
Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
Data privacy, data sovereignty, and cross-border data flows
Cloud computing, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure
Digital government transformation and public sector innovation
Public procurement modernization and technology competitiveness
Represent ServiceNow in Canadian industry associations, coalitions, and public policy forums to promote responsible innovation and advocate for enabling regulatory frameworks.
Provide strategic advice and policy analysis to senior executives and internal teams on the Canadian political, legislative, and regulatory environment.
Develop and execute comprehensive advocacy strategies and public policy positions to support ServiceNow's public sector and regulated industry engagements.
Collaborate with global and regional government affairs colleagues to ensure consistency in policy messaging and strategic coordination across jurisdictions.
Support internal business and sales teams by providing insights on government priorities, policy direction, and procurement trends.
Act as a thought leader in the Canadian technology and policy ecosystem through participation in panels, conferences, and public-private dialogues.
To be successful in this role you have:
10–15 years of senior experience in government relations, public policy, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the technology sector or a related field.
Demonstrated experience working within or closely with the federal government, including Parliament, ministerial offices, or central agencies.
Strong understanding of Canada's policy-making process, including legislative, regulatory, and Cabinet decision-making.
Expertise in technology policy, particularly related to AI governance, digital transformation, and data regulation.
Established network and credibility with federal and provincial policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
Proven ability to develop and execute government relations strategies that support business and policy objectives.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Strong analytical and writing abilities, including experience preparing policy briefs, submissions, and executive briefings.
Advanced degree in law, public policy, political science, international affairs, or a related field preferred.
Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
Ability to travel within Canada and occasionally to the United States.
