Inter Milan Ottawa Soccer Club is a sanctioned senior member club under Eastern Ontario Soccer. Our Club was founded in 1999 and we have an unwavering passion for talent development.

Primary Role Description

This is a part-time role for a Soccer Coach at Inter Milan Ottawa Soccer Club, located in Ottawa, ON. The Soccer Coach will be responsible for planning and leading training sessions, developing strategies to enhance player performance, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. The coach will be managing our Men's Competitive Division 2 (MC2) and Men's Competitive Division 4 (MC4) teams, ensuring consistency in training, match preparation, and player development in line with the Club's overall philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Management
    : Lead training sessions and matchday operations for MC2 and MC4. Ensure competitive performance and player retention. Maintain player discipline, motivation, and commitment. This includes but not limited to ensuring players uphold the club's internal policies on behavior and sportsmanship.
  • Player Development & Tracking
    : Monitor and evaluate individual player progress. Identify players with potential to progress to Semi-professional and Professional level. Provide regular feedback on U21, MC2 and MC4 players to the Head Coach/Technical Director and Club leadership.
  • Matchday & Operational Coordination
    : Standardize match preparation, logistics, and post-game analysis. Submit timely match reports and maintain communication with Club leadership.
  • Community & Club Integration
    : Support recruitment through open trials, local tournaments, and outreach initiatives. Build strong connections with recreational players and feeder teams, creating a pipeline into competitive squads.
  • Leadership Development
    : Mentor team captains and emerging leaders within MC2 and MC4. Encourage responsibility, professionalism, and accountability within the squads.

Qualifications

  • Proven skills in Soccer Coaching, with a background in leading teams at various skill levels.
  • Strong Communication abilities to effectively interact with players and other coaching staff.
  • Experience or qualifications related to Education and Coaching to support player development both on and off the field.
  • Physical fitness and leadership skills to actively demonstrate techniques and serve as a role model for players.
  • Relevant certifications and training required for Senior Amateur level including: Soccer for life, Understanding the Rule of Two, Make Ethical Decisions, Making Headway in Sport (Soccer), Emergency Action Plan, etc,
