  • Candidates must be able to work a split shift Monday to Friday Sept to June AND more full time hours during Spring Break, Summer (JULY & AUGUST) and other school closure dates

We are on the lookout for a fun, outgoing, enthusiastic self starter to join our team in our School Program working with children ages 5 to 12 years old. From September to June, the position is a Monday to Friday position split shift with hours similar to: 7am - 9am and 2:00pm - 5:45pm (approximately 25-28 hours) For the summer, this is a full time position Monday to Friday (approximately 30-38 hours).

Flexibility to work full time hours on school Professional days and school closures (such as Spring Break and summer) is also required. During the school year, additional hours in other programs or locations could be available should the successful candidate hold, or be in the process of obtaining, an ECE or ECE Assistant license. If the candidate holds a valid ECE license to practice, they are eligible for an additional $6 per hour Wage Enhancement.

To be a successful member of the team, we are looking for an individual with experience working with children and is capable of taking initiative in leading groups of children in an inclusive fun environment

Requirements:

  • Ability to program plan and implement age appropriate activities
  • Independently and co-operatively supervise a large group of school children
  • Strong group management skills
  • Ability to lead and direct group activities
  • Amazing communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Ability to take initiative and follow directions to meet program goals.
  • Overall supervision of children indoor and outdoor
  • Organize and execute field trips on full day care days (ie: spring break/summer)
  • Ensure program standards are upheld and implement policies & procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year working in a child care setting, camp leader, city program
  • Responsible adult certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid Criminal record check
  • ECEA or ECE license to practice is considered an asset
