Director, AI Enablement

We are seeking a Director of AI Enablement & Delivery to lead our AI initiatives. This role will be pivotal in driving the strategic direction, development, and implementation of AI solutions across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI technologies, full stack development, and working collaboratively across teams.

Location:
You will be based in our Etobicoke office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship:
You will report to the VP, Commerce Platforms.

Your Moneris Career - What You'll Do

• Lead the AI Enablement & Delivery team to develop and implement AI strategies that align with organizational goals.
• Create a cross functional team that empowers other teams to build it themselves, build it together or have your team build it (the most complex implementations).
• Create monitoring, alerting and reporting to safely enable AI across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI integration and innovation.
• Drive the adoption of AI best practices and methodologies across the organization.
• Manage and mentor a team of AI professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay abreast of the latest AI trends and technologies to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of AI innovation.

Your Moneris Career - What You Bring

• LLMs & Fine Tuning – Experience in prompt engineering and evaluatioin, adapting foundation models using parameter-efficient techniques (LoRA, PEFT) and common toolkits (such as: Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face, etc.)
• RAG – Experience creating RAG pipelines with embedding models leveraging vector databases (such as: Pinecone, weaviate, FAISS, pgvector)
• Agents & Orchestration – Skilled in frameworks such as MCP, LangChain, LlamaIndex or Semantic Kernal to integrate tools and enable multi-step reasoning
• Deployment & Serving – Experience with managed services and frameworks for hosting LLMs (such as: Azure OpenAI, vLLM, TGI, etc.)
• Responsible AI – Understanding of guardrails, bias mitigation, grounding and compliance
• Full Stack Development – Experience with React, Nodejs (preferred), and large relational databases
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in project management and process design
• Experience using GitHub and GitHub actions
• Experience architecting and delivering high-quality, high-security, and high- availability solutions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
