About Us

The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).

Course Information

This course focuses on providing supportive care to individuals experiencing non-emergent health issues. It includes both lab and simulation components to develop practical nursing skills and clinical reasoning in managing stable clients with chronic or non-acute conditions. Students learn to apply evidence-informed practices in a safe and supportive environment.

Mondays or Fridays 3 hour sessions

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.

Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.

Qualifications

Candidates applying to teach professional practice courses must hold a minimum of a Graduate degree in Nursing, have an active and unrestricted CNO licensure to practice, and relevant professional practice experience and qualifications appropriate to the course for which application is being made. A demonstrated record of performance in university-level teaching, working knowledge of the course content and expeirence with mode of instructing is preferred. Candidates must fulfill all pre-placement requirements, according to the deadlines specified.

Course offerings could be assigned to the workload of full-time faculty or to part-time faculty with seniority or preference rights in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, or left unfilled based on operational/enrolment requirements. All positions are subject to budget approval.
