Gardiners Road Animal Hospital is a privately owned practice that has been open just over 5 years. With being a newer clinic, we have high quality diagnostic equipment to ensure that our patients receive the best care as possible, which is our #1 goal as a vet clinic.
We are seeking a confident, passionate, detail oriented Veterinary Technician to join our fast, growing facility. The ideal person works well in a team environment as well as individually.
We are offering Full-Time positions that have availability to work days evenings and weekends is a MUST.
Responsibilities/Duties for the Vet Assistant include but not limited to;
- Surgical Prep/Assisting
- Administering care to in house and hospitalized patients under Veterinary direction.
- Restraint of cats and dogs
- Daily upkeep of the clinic
- Answering phone calls and client questions
- Use of Avimark to book appointments, invoicing, make estimates etc.
- Handling and collecting lab samples (Blood, Urine and Fecal Samples) and In House laboratory work
- Helping in the day to day aspects of the veterinary clinic
Responsibilities/Duties for the Vet Tech include but not limited to;
- Placing catheters
- Taking blood
- Intubating patients
- Prepping patients for surgery
- Monitoring patients under sedation and anesthesia
- Performing lab work
- Perform radiographs
- Restraining cats and dogs
- Answer phone calls and dealing with clients when assistants are busy
Qualifications for the Vet Tech;
- Has a completed and has a degree in a Veterinary Technician program
- Minimum 1 Year experience in a Veterinary Clinic (is preferred but not mandatory)
- Proficient computer skills; Using Excel, Microsoft and Avimark (Required)
