Overview

The Guest Services & Operations Coordinator plays an essential role in supporting daily operations across Waskesiu Resorts. During the busy summer season, this position is primarily focused on front desk services, guest communication, recreation rentals, and cross-property support, while assisting the gift shop team as needed.

This is an adaptable, guest-oriented role perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of hospitality, retail operations, and hands-on resort activity. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and confident multitasking across departments to ensure smooth operations and memorable guest experiences in Prince Albert National Park.

Duties

Peak Season (Summer) – Primary Focus

  • Manage front desk operations (check-ins, check-outs, guest inquiries)
  • Provide guest information on resort amenities, park activities, and local attractions
  • Support cross-property operations for Mackenzie Inn, The Wharf, and Cedar Village Cottages
  • Assist with recreational rentals (paddleboards, bikes, snowshoes, etc.)
  • Respond to guest concerns and ensure a positive experience
  • Help the gift shop team with customer service, cash handling, and restocking as needed
  • Coordinate communication with housekeeping and maintenance teams
  • Maintain accurate daily records, reservations, and reports using WebRez Pro

Shoulder Season (Spring/Fall)

  • Oversee daily operations of gift shop
  • Manage inventory, restocking, merchandising, and product displays
  • Train and guide seasonal retail staff
  • Handle ordering, special requests, and vendor communication
  • Ensure clean, organized, and welcoming retail space
  • Manage gift shop cash-outs, POS transactions, and closing routines

Year-Round Core Duties

  • Support digital communications (seasonal promotions, retail highlights, local events)
  • Help plan and support seasonal events, guest programs, and pop-up activities
  • Participate in cross-department teamwork during peak periods (housekeeping/site support when required)
  • Maintain alignment with resort policies and national park standards

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, or guest services
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
  • Proficiency with reservation or POS systems (experience with WebRez Pro is an asset)
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and email platforms
  • Willingness to assist across departments when needed (front desk, rentals, retail)
  • Ability to reside or relocate to Waskesiu Lake during the employment period

Assets

  • Experience supervising or training staff
  • Retail or inventory management experience
  • Knowledge of Prince Albert National Park and regional tourism
  • Valid driver's license
  • First Aid/CPR certification
