Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Accounting Clerk to join our finance team with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys client interaction, and is eager to build a foundation in accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Monitor and process customer payments, maintain accurate records, ensure timely posting of receipts.
  • Proactively contact clients regarding outstanding balances via phone and email, maintaining professional relationships while securing payment commitments.
  • Serve as a point of contact for billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and account reconciliation questions.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on payment terms and account status.
  • Assist with accounts receivable reconciliation and prepare reports for month-end closing processes.
  • Maintain organized records of invoices, payment correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the accounting team with general administrative tasks and provide backup assistance for accounts payable as needed.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or a related field is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, with demonstrated accounts receivable experience required.
  • Strong attention to details with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with confidence in client-facing interactions.
  • Comfortable working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience will QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online is an asset.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment.
  • Professional demeanor when handling sensitive financial conversations.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
