Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review and analyze financial data to find/identify discrepancies or irregularities
  • Prepare financial schedules and reports for litigation/loss quantification (personal injury, fatality, family law, disability, expropriation, contract disputes, shareholder disputes and other commercial disputes)
  • Perform fraud investigations, allegations of misappropriation, fraud risk assessments, fraud risk management frameworks and public sector employee investigations.
  • Prepare financial schedules and reports for insured losses (cyber business interruption, property business interruption, fidelity / employee dishonesty / crime, income replacement benefits, stock losses)
  • Perform financial analysis in the context of legal or potentially legal disputes
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely manner
  • Meet time budget and deadlines as expected per file
  • Maintain appropriate legislative knowledge on an ongoing basis
  • Assist with attending conferences, events, presentations and proposals
  • Other duties as required

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical, accounting and auditing skills
  • Experience in forensic accounting
  • CPA designation or working towards CPA, CBV designations an asset
  • Knowledge of insurance loss quantification and claims consulting process
  • Knowledge of family law, personal injury, accident benefits an asset
  • Highly detail oriented, excellent organizational/time management and communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred
