Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the back-of-house team to ensure all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to ensure menu items are prepared to the highest quality, following recipes and standards.
  • Ensure that food preparation meets the company's strict health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen at all times.
  • Lead and mentor kitchen staff, assisting in training and providing constructive feedback to help team members develop their skills.
  • Assist with managing inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the kitchen is stocked and ready for service, while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, making sure each dish meets Original Joe's standards before it's served to guests.
  • Troubleshoot kitchen issues and ensure timely communication between the front and back of house to maintain a seamless guest experience.
  • Contribute to menu planning and daily specials by sharing creative ideas with the Kitchen Manager and General Manager.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Culinary Leadership Experience: 1-2+ years in a kitchen supervisory role or equivalent, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or bar environment.
  • Culinary Skills: Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety standards, with a passion for creating delicious dishes.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring smooth service during busy times.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can quickly resolve issues to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Team-Oriented Mindset: You enjoy working collaboratively with your team and management to create an enjoyable work environment and outstanding guest experiences.
