Tidewater has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst, Corporate Accounting. This is a full-time position based out of our Calgary Head Office and reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting. This is a fast paced, deadline driven role that requires superb organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes
· Drive improvement in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial analysis processes related to corporate accounting
· Prepare monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and coordination of reconciliations from various departments
· Prepare ad hoc economic analysis and management reports as needed
· Assists with invoicing processes and vendor reviews
· Assists with monthly tax filings
· Assists for general ledger maintenance requests and ad hoc systems requests
· Support preparation of audit working papers for quarterly and annual external financial reports
· Preparation of monthly actual and budget variance analysis
· Responding to requests from internal & external auditors and preparing related working papers
· Works independently on various accounting related projects
· Assist with month end management and general ledger close
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights
· Ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial policies
· Other tasks, as required
Qualifications/Skills:
· 1-5 years of financial accounting experience, specific Oil and Gas operating accounting experience is considered an asset
· Currently enrolled in the CPA program
· Proficient computer skills, including an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
· Experience with Qbyte is considered an asset
· Strong knowledge of financial modeling, analysis, and reporting
· Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance

· Ability to review and understand finance as well as formulate a plan, solutions and alternatives to resolve issues with best practices and successfully execute on issues
· Willingness to learn, improve existing processes, and confront new challenges
· Self-motivated problem solver with a relentless focus on high quality results and operational excellence
· Enthusiastic and committed to getting the job done in a fast paced, high-performing, dynamic environment with a willing to "roll up the sleeves" and "get the job done" attitude.
