About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in end-of-line (EOL) test system implementation, LED PCBA design, and SMT production support, combined with broad manufacturing engineering capabilities.

You will play a key role in improving product quality, enhancing production efficiency, and driving continuous improvement across our electronics manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembled Light Fixture Functional Test System

Test Parameter Overview;

Hi-Pot Test/ 0-10V Dimming / Line Voltage Dimming / Light Control Modules

  • Lead the specification, design, integration, and validation of end-of-line (EOL) testing equipment for LED light Fixture [Luminaire].
  • Lead the specification, design, integration, and validation of AC relay test circuit.
  • Develop test procedures, test fixtures, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to customize and deploy automated test solutions.
  • Support troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance of test stations.

LED PCBA Design & Development

  • Contribute to the electrical design of LED modules, and lighting PCBAs.
  • Review schematics, PCB layouts, and component selections for manufacturability and performance.
  • Support prototyping, validation, and transition to mass production.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and implement improvements.

SMT Line Support

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for the SMT production line, including stencil design, reflow profiling, DFM improvements, and process optimization.
  • Assist in NPI activities and production ramp-up.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for SMT defects.
  • Maintain documentation for process control and operator training.

General Manufacturing Engineering

  • Lead continuous improvement projects to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
  • Support creation of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and PFMEA.
  • Participate in alternate source of material evaluations, supplier interactions, and equipment upgrades.
  • Support factory layout improvements, workflow optimization, and safety compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or diploma in electronics engineering.
  • 3–5 years of experience in electronics or lighting manufacturing is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes, SMT assembly, and test methodologies are an asset
  • Experience with automated test equipment is an asset
  • Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout tools [ALTIUM Preferred]
  • ·xperience using 2D CAD software such as Draftsight or AutoCAD
  • Design and troubleshooting experience of analog and digital circuits using basic lab equipment – lab PSU, DMM oscilloscope, etc.
  • ·Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of one more programming language is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS office and MS excel is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications (but not necessary):

  • Experience with LED lighting systems or power electronics.
  • Knowledge of DFx, Lean Manufacturing, and SPC.
  • Experience with robotics, conveyors, or automation systems.
