Overview
We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Roofing Technician, to work out of our office in Vancouver.

This position is responsible for specifications, investigations and management of multiple roofing projects involving varying scopes and complexity. Extensive roofing experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience with client relations and developing proposals.

The Salary Range for this position is $62,200 - $93,400 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation of CAD drawings
  • Preparation of design tender documents
  • Preparation of technical specifications for roofing remediation projects
  • Direct the collecting of field data required for the preparation of repair specifications, drawings and tendering
  • Reviewing shop drawings
  • Assisting with the compilation of both field and report data in order to prepare specification documents and drawings
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications to verify that the scope of work is sufficient and to ensure that all required details, materials, methods, etc. are correctly specified
  • Contract administration
  • Prepare design briefs for Client approval
  • Wind uplift calculation
  • Prepare condition reports
  • Coordinate and attend project meetings
  • Coordinate interdepartmental design requirements
  • Schedule mockups and field testing
  • Monitor Client scope and document changes as needed

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma in an Engineering or Architectural Technology program (or another related field)
  • Minimum of 4 years' roofing working experience
  • Experience with specifying roofing systems
  • Experience carrying out project management functions with a focus on roofing remediation projects
  • Must possess the ability to read Architectural Blueprints
  • General construction knowledge (i.e. how buildings go together)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data collection and notation
  • Good oral and written English communication skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Self-motivating and multi-tasking ability
  • Able to work individually and in a team setting
