The Legal Recruitment team at IQ PARTNERS has partnered with a boutique law firm in Toronto to find their next Civil Litigation Legal Assistant Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates with ease, and is eager to grow their skills alongside an experienced team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing, formatting, and filing pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other civil litigation documents.
  • Managing calendars, scheduling discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and hearings.
  • Drafting, proofreading, and finalizing correspondence, court forms, and legal documents.
  • Maintaining and organizing electronic and physical client files in compliance with firm and court requirements.
  • Assisting lawyers with meeting preparation and ensuring they are equipped with all necessary materials.
  • Handling communications with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supporting billing processes including docket entry, pre-bills, and invoices.
  • Providing general administrative support such as coordinating travel, meetings, and expenses.

What You Bring to the Table

  • A Legal Assistant diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Previous experience supporting lawyers in civil litigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal document management systems.
