Head Housekeeper Toronto, ON

Position Overview:

Seeking a Head Housekeeper for a formal residence located in Rosedale, Toronto. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the residence. Rooms to be cleaned will alternate each day outside of core areas. This position is full-time, live-out. Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm with flexibility required to work more hours when the principal is in residence.



Candidate Profile:


You are an experienced and knowledgeable housekeeping professional with excellent housekeeping and laundry skills who enjoys keeping a clean and organized home. You are a strong driver who can drive the principal while in residence. You communicate well and are comfortable working independently the majority of the time. You understand a home is a living environment, not just a workplace, and can easily adjust your daily schedule to accommodate activities in the residence.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Daily housekeeping to include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, washing floors

  • Care of fine furnishings, fixtures, fabrics, finishes, and surfaces

  • Inventory management of the residence including cleaning products, toiletries, and the kitchen pantry

  • Regular laundry and ironing

  • Experience caring for antics and expensive furnishings

  • Wardrobe management working with the principal, packing and unpacking

  • Supervise trades and contractors as needed

  • Ensure carpets get deep cleaning.

  • Ensure household security protocols are followed

  • Answering the door, receive packages

  • Sort and dispose of recycling, compost, and garbage correctly

  • Errands and other tasks as needed like grocery pickup, package drop off etc.

  • Taking care of a dog, feeding,walking.


Applicant Qualities:

  • Excellent English communication skills and professional personal presentation

  • Eye for detail

  • Leader qualities, being able to train new housekeeping staff

  • Full Ontario G license

  • Must be comfortable lifting 30 pounds

  • Excellent housekeeping, laundry and ironing skills; correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces

  • Must maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundaries

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
