As our operations expand, we are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) experienced in MySQL and cloud-based database systems to join our growing technical team.

Position Overview

The Database Administrator will manage, optimize, and secure our company and client databases. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining MySQL databases across both on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring maximum uptime, data integrity, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain MySQL databases and related cloud infrastructure (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or similar).
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize SQL queries for improved efficiency.
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, replication, and failover strategies.
  • Design and maintain database schemas to support web applications and digital marketing platforms.
  • Collaborate with web developers and IT teams to ensure smooth integration between front-end systems and databases.

  • Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with Canadian data privacy regulations.

  • Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, access, and change management.

  • Contribute to cloud migration and scaling initiatives as the agency continues to grow.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Strong proficiency with MySQL and database performance tuning.
  • Experience managing cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Database for MySQL).
  • Familiarity with database automation, scripting, and monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have a valid Canadian Work Permit and/or Social Insurance Number (SIN).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
