Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety across various facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for clients and staff alike. The ideal candidate will have experience in custodial work, possess strong time management skills, and demonstrate excellent communication abilities. Prior experience with commercial cleaning, facilities maintenance, and the use of hand tools or power tools is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a professional setting while developing valuable skills in cleaning and facilities upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including floors, windows, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks as needed to support facility upkeep
  • Conduct facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, light carpentry, or equipment servicing to ensure operational efficiency
  • Manage time effectively to complete cleaning schedules within designated timeframes while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Handle heavy lifting tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment during cleaning or maintenance activities
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing
  • Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) during all cleaning and maintenance activities
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding ongoing tasks or issues encountered during work

Requirements

  • Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred; familiarity with facilities maintenance is a plus
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Strong understanding of cleaning procedures, safety standards, and proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly
  • Customer service orientation with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or visitors
  • Reliable work ethic with a focus on attention to detail and cleanliness standards
