Asbestos Abatement Superviser

The Supervisor must:
- Ensure that all asbestos abatement activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company procedures.
- Oversee setup and maintenance of containment systems, including negative air units, critical barriers, and decontamination units.
- Supervise and coordinate all site personnel performing abatement work.
- Conduct pre-job inspections and ensure appropriate hazard assessments and safe work procedures are followed.
- Ensure proper use, selection, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory officials, and third-party consultants.
- Stop work in the event of unsafe conditions or regulatory non-compliance.
- Verify decontamination procedures are followed and the site is properly cleaned for clearance inspection.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of asbestos waste.
3. Qualifications and TrainingThe Asbestos Abatement Supervisor must have:
- Valid and current Supervisor-level Asbestos Abatement Training certificate (Type 1, 2, and 3).
- Current training in:
- Respiratory Protection (fit testing and selection)
- Fall Protection (if applicable)
- First Aid/CPR
- WHMIS 2015 and hazardous materials awareness
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in asbestos abatement.
- Knowledge of Regulation 111/98 and related occupational health and safety standards.

The ideal candidates will be reliable, punctual, and motivated to lead jobs. Team Leads need to be able to adapt quickly to a changing work environment, while always keeping health and safety in mind. They report directly to our Director of Operations, and Project Managers, who will provide instruction and guidance to ensure the job is carried out correctly. Some days you will be expected to work out of town, and overtime may be required on a regular basis.
General duties of this position are as see above and below duties may be required as necessary:
· Following work orders to carry out all restoration work necessary
· Completing demolitions of affected areas, as per instructions provided
· Packing, listing, cleaning, and disposing of contents and furniture, often lifting and carrying heavy loads
· Utilizing tools, equipment, and chemicals to completed tasks in the safest way possible
· Removing, transporting, and disposing of large amounts of debris, sometimes hazardous
· Carrying out all work while ensuring the safety of yourself, your coworkers, and homeowner
This position will have working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with additional overtime when necessary. Applicants MUST be willing to work overtime, sometimes with short notice.
Valid Driver's license ands clean abstract . Industry experience is required. Level 3 Abatement Cert required.
