The Employment Engagement Specialist (Job Developer) will build meaningful connections that create impact. This position will work out of both Hamilton and Halton offices.

This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license and a reliable insured vehicle. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that they have a valid driver's license and proof of car insurance upon being hired.

What You Will Do:

  • Proactively building a network of employers and community partners to generate job opportunities.
  • Staying current on local labour market trends and identifying new business development opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining strong, ongoing relationships with employers through consistent outreach and follow-up.
  • Marketing clients directly to employers by highlighting their skills, strengths, and value as employees.
  • Educating employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities, including improved workplace culture, expanded talent pools, and enhanced community reputation.
  • Promoting inclusive hiring practices and addressing employer concerns with practical solutions.
  • Identifying talent-to-role matches and presenting them to employers in a professional, solutions-focused way.
  • Negotiating wage subsidy agreements and employment terms where applicable.
  • Partnering with Career Development Specialists to ensure clients are equipped with the tools and strategies for long-term job success.

What We Are Looking For:

You are energized by building relationships and creating win-win opportunities for people and businesses. You understand the value of employment in transforming lives and are motivated by connecting great talent with great employers. You bring:

  • Strong background in business development, sales, marketing, or recruitment.
  • A passion for advocating and marketing the strengths of individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and educate.
  • Ability to meet and exceed performance targets.
  • A collaborative approach, while being able to work independently.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales, recruitment, business development, or employment services.
  • Knowledge of disability employment, ODSP, or Service Canada programs is an asset.
  • Sensitivity and understanding when working with individuals who experience barriers to employment.
