Located at the Sunrise General Store Building in the heart of Haisla Village is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented On-Call Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while maintaining an organized and efficient store environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a retail setting.

On-Call Store Clerk

The Gizuá Market, a yáqʷa Development Corporation company. Located at the Sunrise General Store Building in the heart of Haisla Village, has an immediate opening for an On-Call Store Clerk.

As a Store Clerk, your role is vital for the smooth operation of the business, especially in a marketplace with diverse specialty food vendors. You are the kind of person that understands that providing excellent customer service is key to the success of the business.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Customer Service: Ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Culinary Preparation: Prepare food orders with skill and efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Keep coolers, snack aisles, and freezers (including ice cream and frozen yogurt) fully stocked. This includes groceries, chips, candy, and chocolates.
  • Produce Preparation: Manage the preparation of frozen fruits for yogurt and chop fresh vegetables for kitchen use.
  • Facility Maintenance: Conduct regular cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors across various areas including the solarium, store, kitchen, storage rooms, and bathrooms. This also includes dishwashing and sanitizing countertops daily.
  • Equipment Care: Clean the yogurt machine daily and conduct a comprehensive deep clean weekly. Drain and clean the deep fryer weekly.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a clean and safe environment by sanitizing tables, coolers, freezers, and other surfaces regularly. This includes the thorough cleaning of bathrooms and the recycling of cardboard, plastics, and containers.

Qualifications;

We are seeking the following qualifications;

  • Grade twelve (12) minimum requirement;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word;
  • Must be willing and able to pass a criminal record check.
