The Collaborative Administration Department (CAD)
The position is in the Collaborative Administration Department (CAD) which is the accounting and administration department of the organization but also independently supports other not for profit charitable organizations, through a shared service model, with their financial and administrative requirements. The duties and responsibilities as outlined are consistent with all external organizations supported by the CAD through a shared service agreement.
The CAD is seeking a passionate and experienced Accounting Coordinator, whose main focus is the coordination of all financial data related to family funding. The position is hands on and is responsible for ensuring all financial information is accurate, current, and complete. Building collaborative relationships with families will be key in this role. The incumbent works closely with staff and client companies to meet objectives in keeping with the mission and principles of the organizations supported. A professional, courteous, and respectful manner to staff, families and clients will always be maintained. All information is to be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

What You Will Be Responsible For
:
· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding Durham Association for Family Resources and Support business, its policies, and procedures.
· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding CAD client files, business, policies, and procedures
· Attend and actively participates in team meetings
· Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with the staff, families, volunteers, CAD clients, other providers, and the community
· Clearly understands and supports the "Primary Responsibility" of the CAD.
· Maintain a descriptive desk manual, documenting all specific job responsibilities
· Coordinate and monitor all financial contracts and reporting for supported individuals/families, facilitators/coordinators, and management.
· Work closely with family members, facilitators/coordinators, and management, providing current data required for support decisions. Proactively raise issues to the family support team about individual's funding concerns.
· Responsible for the support worker payment process including input, allocation of funding and accuracy of invoices submitted for payment.
· Assist family members to understand the requirements of the invoice payment process and support families to meet the requirements of the funding to insure payment to workers.
· Prepare bi-weekly funding reports for the facilitation/coordination team.
· Monitor, track and advise management on the status of spending and third-party review reports required and received from families.
· Prepare, distribute and monitor the return of annual Individualized Funding Contracts
· Enter individual budgets in the accounting software and update currently with funding changes.
· Invoice all funders of individualized funding based on provided schedules.
· Prepare external funder reports based on provided schedules.
· Looks for and recommends changes to increase efficiency and process
· Work closely with external auditors and plan time to respond to their queries and requests.

What Makes You The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 5 years of similar accounting experience
- Formal accounting training. Knowledge of payroll processing an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software or other simila
- Ability to learn new software systems as required by clients
- Proficient in Microsoft office including Word and Excel
- Ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to multitask and organize work efficiently
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement
- Ability to solve problems and implement solutions effectively
