Broadway Bound Youth Musical Theatre (BBYMT) — Manotick, ON

BBYMT is seeking passionate Guest Instructors in Dance, Vocal Music, and Acting for our March Break Musical Theatre Experience (March 10–14, 2025).

This is a short-term, paid contract ideal for emerging teaching artists, post-secondary performing arts students, and working professionals looking to build their experience in musical theatre education.

Guest Instructors will lead high-quality, engaging sessions for young performers (ages 5–17), contribute to showcase preparation, and help foster a fun, supportive, and professional learning environment.

Duties

  • Teach age-appropriate musical theatre content in assigned discipline (Dance / Voice / Acting)
  • Plan and prepare material in advance based on repertoire provided
  • Support skill development in technique, performance, and confidence-building
  • Lead warm-ups and structured learning blocks with enthusiasm and classroom management
  • Collaborate with BBYMT directors to ensure safety, smooth transitions, and positive behavior expectations
  • Contribute to showcase preparation and final performance
  • Supervise students during instructional periods as needed

Qualifications

  • Training and/or teaching experience in dance, vocal, or acting/performance
  • Strong communication and leadership skills when working with youth
  • Musical theatre experience or interest is a strong asset
  • Reliable, professional, positive, and team-oriented
  • Must be able to commute to Manotick for the full week (March 16–20)
  • Ability to provide (or obtain) a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
  • Age 18+

Contract Details

  • 1-week contract: March 10–14, 2025
  • Daytime hours between 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (5 days)
  • $25/hour, paid by e-transfer
  • BBYMT T-shirt provided
  • All planning support and repertoire materials provided in advance
