Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing advanced estimating tools and techniques to deliver precise pricing and project scope assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive construction estimates using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and material requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost analysis for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, assumptions, and revisions throughout the bidding process.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules based on estimate data.
  • Conduct site visits when necessary to gather additional information for accurate estimation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, pricing strategies, and new estimating technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for reviewing drawings and markup management.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Experience with construction estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
  • Excellent project management skills to coordinate multiple estimates simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze complex project data and develop accurate cost projections.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies within the construction industry to optimize bid competitiveness. This position is integral to our project's success, requiring a proactive approach to estimating that combines technical expertise with strategic negotiation skills.
