Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting our veterinary staff in various tasks. This position requires a love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and preparing necessary instruments.
  • Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, conducting basic tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, surgical areas, and the overall facility.
  • Provide compassionate care to animals by monitoring their comfort and well-being during visits.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' health, treatment plans, and post-care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Help with the restraint of animals for examinations and treatments while ensuring safety for both the staff and the pets.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately in various situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional veterinary-related education or certification is an advantage.
