Power BI developer (Contract Position)

Number of Positions: 2 Duration: 2 months with possible extension

Roles and responsibilities:

This role is to perform report and model building. Need very strong SQL background. It's critical that candidates have worked in Power BI or fabric report and model building.

-Needs to be able to build semantic Power BI model given business requirements

-Needs to be able to work in and understand SQL

-Python skills and/or Microsoft fabric would be an asset

Looking to hire a skilled Power BI/SSRS Report Developer specializing in advanced planning and forecasting to support our Dynamics 365 operations. In this contract role, you will design and develop complex reports and dashboards that provide insights into supply chain, demand planning, inventory management, and other key operational areas. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data analytics in a planning and forecasting context, leveraging Dynamics 365 data models to optimize decision-making processes across the business.

• Develop advanced planning, forecasting and production KPI reports and dashboards using Power BI and SSRS to meet the organization's reporting needs in areas such as demand planning, inventory optimization, and supply chain management.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders in planning, procurement, logistics and operations to understand data and reporting requirements, translating them into actionable visualizations and reports.

• Extract, transform, and integrate data from Dynamics 365 and other data sources to provide comprehensive, real-time insights for forecasting, inventory, and production planning.

• Build and enhance complex data models, using advanced DAX formulas, Power Query, and T-SQL to drive detailed planning and forecasting analysis.

• Optimize existing planning and production KPI reports and dashboards, ensuring they provide timely, accurate, and meaningful insights for better business decision-making.

• Ensure proper integration of planning, forecasting and production data from Dynamics 365 into reporting tools and automate report generation for increased efficiency.

• Develop SSRS reports inside D365 to extend the tool to provide live reporting for time critical activities

• Provide training and support to end-users on how to use advanced planning and operations reports and tools, ensuring that stakeholders can interpret and act on the data.

• Provide same training listed above, and supporting documentation, to internal BI team to ensure long-term sustainment of reports created

Must have skills/experience/qualifications

• University degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Data Science/Data Analytics/Supply Chain Management.

• Proven experience in Power BI and SSRS report development with a focus on advanced planning, forecasting, and supply chain reporting.

• Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 data structures, particularly in areas related to planning, inventory management, procurement, and production.

• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, DAX formulas, and using Power Query for data transformation.

• Experience working with data models related to demand forecasting, resource planning, and supply chain optimization.

• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to create detailed forecasting and trend analysis reports that support operational planning.

• Experience with other Microsoft BI tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, SSIS.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to understand business needs and deliver solutions that drive efficiency.

• Certification in Power BI or Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations a plus
