About The Role
In the
Director, Media Strategy & Planning
position, you will help to shape and execute the online marketing strategies, develop and optimize highly-effective paid campaigns across media channels, with the goal to increase customer base and engagement levels. This is a role where you will partner with client managers and innovation leaders from one of our major technology clients. Our ideal candidate is an outstanding senior digital marketing leader with experience across all facets of digital marketing, a fast and flexible go-getter who jumps on new opportunities, with a natural aptitude for collaboration. At this time, all positions are exclusively work from home. Once the company decides to resume normal office operations, your time will be spent in our office, though frequency is subject to change based on business needs and general health and safety considerations.
Responsibilities
- Interface with senior executives and provide thought leadership on media landscape
- Manage and mentor a team of associate directors, media planners and media buyers
- Think strategically about complex programs for multiple clients and a global portfolio, providing thoughtful recommendations and action plans for campaigns that drive high ROI
- Manage resources across a global portfolio of paid media programs
- Develop media plan strategies and tactically execute online customer acquisition campaigns in alignment with customer goals
- Drive and execute large scale paid campaigns across Google media channels (Google Ads SEM, GDN, YouTube, DV360, etc) and Social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and others)
- Provide ongoing management and optimization of these campaigns with a heavy emphasis on tracking, automation, script creation and reporting
- Analyze, review and present Quarterly Business Reviews to stakeholders and recommend areas of growth for the account.
- Mentor your team to develop and tactically execute online customer acquisition strategies and campaigns for our client's products
- Responsible for team-wide key performance metrics on large scale paid campaigns
- Lead strategy and recommendations for customer experience testing and optimizations throughout the customer journey (ad creative, ad placement, landing page experience, conversion forms, post-conversion relationship, A/B and multivariate testing, etc).
- Work closely with multiple clients to drive success in meeting their goals and partner with the cross-channel leads for integrated campaign program development.
- Oversee client financials and account profitability
- Mentor, manage, and grow direct reports
About You
The essentials:
- 12+ years of digital marketing leadership with deep expertise across the Google Stack, major social platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, X, TikTok), and advanced programmatic media.
- Strong communication skills required, with proven experience presenting to clients and vendor partners
- Proven leader in full-lifecycle digital campaign management, from strategy and planning to execution and insightful reporting
- Resourceful and self-directed leader who thrives in dynamic environments, adept at managing uncertainty and working autonomously to achieve objectives
- Excellent leadership, management and organization skills
- Highly skilled in driving effective cross-functional communication, ensuring alignment and synergy within a fast-paced, energetic team environment
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate and present complex data insights clearly and compellingly to clients
- Proven strategic capabilities, consistently translating complex challenges into innovative recommendations, robust action plans, and campaigns that drive ROI
- Innately proactive and highly organized, this disciplined self-starter consistently takes initiative to achieve ambitious goals
- A proven entrepreneurial mindset, adept at spearheading initiatives and strategies that accelerate the organization's growth trajectory
Not a Must, But a Plus
- Undergraduate degree required, showcasing robust analytical skills and strong academic achievement. Master's degree a plus
- Proficiency with digital Ad Servers, advanced campaign optimization platforms, and online tracking solutions, particularly Google Analytics, is a distinct advantage

What We Offer
Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
Salary Range$140,000—$150,000 CAD
