Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada Pillar to Post Home Inspectors - Saskatoon Full time $42,000 - $63,000 per year

Our business is growing We are actively recruiting an employee to re-establish Pillar To Post in Regina and area, reporting to the Saskatoon office. We are actively hiring to meet the growing demand from our clients in the home buying process.

The ideal team member will perform professional home and related inspection services for home buyers and sellers that create a memorable experience for all parties involved in the transaction.

This will be a permanent part-time position with varying hours and peak season being April to November. The Regina region MLS sales may at times peak to full time equivalent hours seasonally. This position would be ideal for an individual with trades experience or residential construction experience looking to semi-retire and get off the tools. A previous home inspection course would be considered an asset.

· Must understand the importance of delivering the highest level of service to every client, all day, every day.

· Must have excellent written and verbal communication and computer skills.

· Must work extremely independently as main office location is in Saskatoon

· Must have solid knowledge base of basic systems and components of a residential home.

· Must have a good computer and typing skills.

· Must be physically able to work with a ladder to access, roofs and attic spaces and enter crawl spaces.

· Must be available to work permanent part-time with variable hours.

· Must authorize a background check , driving record check, and drug test.

· Initial and on-going training will be required and provided both on site and at home self study.

Home Inspector Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The responsibilities of a home inspector require a broad range of abilities. In addition, the inspector must have the interpersonal skills to communicate findings both verbally and in a written report format.

This position will work with the business owner and/or additional team members to achieve the level of customer satisfaction, revenue goals and standards of practice.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILIITES:

· Complete a concise and detailed inspection of the home including but not limited to all crawl spaces and attic areas

· Convey all findings in a professional manner using proper grammar and punctuation

· Communicates professionally with real estate agents and customers

· Consult and make recommendations to real estate agents and customers for the various value packages and/or additional services offered by the Pillar To Post franchise business owner

· Maintain accurate records of all home inspections including photos, written details about the inspection and the filing of completed inspection reports

· Maintain a strong sense of time management to ensure all inspections are arrived at 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time and home inspections are completed within the allotted time frame

· Establish a proactive follow up process to ensure all customers are contacted in a reasonable time frame

· Communicate the pricing model offered by the Pillar To Post franchise business owner

· Complete all paperwork and follow established company procedures from

initiation through completion of the booked home inspections

· Participate in marketing events such as lunch and learn event, trade shows, and office visit marketing programs

· Responsible for the collection of payment at the completion of the home inspection

· Coordinate placement and pickup of specialized testing equipment

· Responsible for all company issued equipment

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

· Basic knowledge of residential home systems and components

· Previous service business experience

· Proven ability to achieve professional goals

· Ability to persuade and influence others

· Ability to develop and deliver presentations

· Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials

· Ability to resolve problems, conflict, and complex communications issues

· Ability to deal with a variety of emotions and frustrations from the home buyer.

This requires emotional maturity and stability on the part of the home inspector.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills

· Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public

· Requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

· Willingness to work a flexible schedule (this includes Saturdays)

· Pass all assessments administered during the hiring process

· Pass Pillar to Post and required training and testing

· Personality: Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive mental outlook and a clear focus on quality and customer service. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with a variety of customers. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view. Always presentable and businesslike. Able to get along with others and be a team-player.

· Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills particularly Internet and email

· Literacy and Numeracy: Able to understand information located on various equipment and/or appliance labels. Must be a competent writer

· Business and Selling Skills:

A. Must possess excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills

B. Able to demonstrate the features and benefits of the various value packages and/or the additional services offered by the Pillar To Post franchise business owner

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Working conditions may require this position to work in the extreme heat or cold

· May be required to work in the rain

· Required to walk on roofs, enter attics, or crawl under homes

· Must have the ability to climb ladders and maneuver in tight spaces

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time

· Work may be required to work weekends (Saturdays) and/or evenings

· This position will require local travel within 100km of Regina (driving from location to location)

· Personal vehicle will be required to fulfill the requirement of this position, an allowance is provided.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $30.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
