We are looking for new Board Members to join Semiahmoo Family Place
To further advance the mission and impact of Semiahmoo Family Place (SFP), we are seeking exceptional individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and expertise in: finance and accounting, legal, non-profit leadership, fundraising, grant writing, marketing and public relations, technology/IT, healthcare and public health, education, human resources, social work and social services, corporate and business leadership, government and policy, philanthropy, arts and culture, and community development.
Your experience and insights will play a crucial role in guiding SFP's strategic direction, governance, and the continued growth of our programs. We believe that a diverse and multidisciplinary board will enrich our organization's decision-making processes and enable us to better serve our community. If you are passionate about family well-being, community building, and strengthening the impact of a nonprofit organization, we invite you to contribute your expertise and be a part of our journey. Your commitment as a volunteer will help shape a brighter future for Semiahmoo Family Place and the families we serve.
In particular as this time we are looking to fill three vacant roles:
- Cashier. The cashier is signatory on our bank account, oversees payroll, and ensures that all cash movements are accurately reported in our accounts. The cashier (along with our treasurer and finance manager) is a key member of our finance committee.
- Community Fundraiser. We are seeking a well-connected community member with experience and vision to fundraise for our charity, to lead our fundraising committee, and to run at least one fundraiser a year to help support the long term mission of SFP. You will work with the executive director and other board members to develop sustainble community funding for our organization.
- Vice President. The vice-president supports the board president and is expected to fulfill a similar role. They act in place of the president when the president is otherwise unavailable.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: $1.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Surrey, BC
