The Sous Chef Role:
We are looking for a hospitality minded professional to help lead the new brewpub's food program and represent the GLB values in everything that you do.
The 'right fit' has a passion for providing an exceptional experience, food made from scratch with quality ingredients, craft beer and pizza We are looking for a Sous Chef that will be an active presence in the kitchen and is motivated to expand upon their career through learning and teaching new techniques, menu and policy development, tracking sales and performance indicators. You have the proven ability to lead by example, and thrive when supporting and mentoring a team of aspiring leaders.

Functional Competencies:
- Work with the Head Chef to design menu and create recipes
- Manage open/close procedures and physically present during high volume service periods
- Effectively manages labour, staff levels to meet the needs of the business
- Work with the Head Chef to build and uphold operational policies and procedures
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of product, and supplies
- Oversee kitchen equipment management and maintenance contracts
- Execute and maintain quality standards
- Train and develop team members to promote unique skill sets and career growth
- Manage and identifies critical control points in all areas of product receiving, storage, preparation and service
- Develop action plans to maintain controllable expenses and increase sales
- Oversee the preparation, presentation and execution of all menu items
Education & Experience:
- 1 year experience in a similar role
- Food Handler Certificate
