Job Summary:

Working closely and under the direction of the Controller, the incumbent will contribute to the daily accounting cycle and month-end functions, while supporting the Accounting team with general day-to-day duties such as AP, AR, invoicing, and investigations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete the month-end reporting cycle for multiple companies
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis tools
  • Review bank records, perform bank reconciliations, and process payments
  • Collaborate with the Controller and AP, AR, and Invoicing teams
  • Reconcile and enter monthly credit card transactions
  • Act as a backup for payroll review and assist with payroll entries
  • Maintain records and journalize monthly fixed assets, depreciation, and prepaids
  • Compile monthly and ad hoc reports
  • Assist with budget preparation and forecasting activities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency
  • Support month-end and year-end requirements
  • Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with a passion for full-cycle accounting
  • University degree or college certificate in accounting
  • CPA designation considered an asset
  • Knowledge of current accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
  • Strong fundamental math skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Demonstrated accuracy in calculating, posting, correcting, and managing accounting figures and financial records
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
