MDT Technical specializes in voice and data wireless communications. Our office is located in Delta B.C. and we service mainly the Lower Mainland area. Our primary focus is voice and data radio communications including inbuilding RF coverage and repeater systems, 2-Way, radio and cellular DAS Systems and Point to Point Data Links.

Description

As aTechnician, your primary responsibilities are to build, install, troubleshoot, service and maintain analog, digital, DMR, trunked radio systems and in building DAS systems. Our customers include public safety, education, and public works departments. We are looking for qualified individuals with experience in the field and those who are looking for a new and long-lasting career opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working with our customers to provide excellence in customer service.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair LMR analog, DMR, and trunked digital RF systems.
  • Program radios and equipment as required.
  • Install terminate, test, RF, data and fiber cabling as required
  • Operate test equipment such as spectrum analyzer to diagnose system issues.
  • Install RF microwave systems.
  • Install RF systems per design documents and best practices.
  • Respond to customer emergency service calls.
  • Work with and understand AC/DC power systems.
  • Install vehicle mounted mobile radios, and equipment
  • Test for signal strength and determine requirements.
  • Install, service and maintain BDA DAS systems.
  • Ensure timely completion of work.
  • Assist other staff as needed.
  • Work with RF engineer to develop scope of work.

Requirements:

Post Secondary Education in Radio or Telecom, or equivalent training and related experience.

Valid BC Drivers License

Additional consideration for:

  • Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree
  • Technical training and certifications (OSHA, R56, Motorola, Kenwood, Harris, etc.)

  • Strong multitasking, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and as an active member of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues
  • Knowledge of RF spectrum and antenna propagation theory
  • Understanding of basic IP networking and digital systems
  • Ability to follow a Scope of Work, rack diagrams, wiring diagrams and system drawings

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
