Position Overview:

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across assigned properties. This role involves monitoring premises, enforcing safety policies, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, strong situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol assigned properties, including building interiors, exteriors, and parking areas.
  • Monitor security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm panels.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and security breaches.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and documentation as required.
  • Enforce building policies, safety procedures, and access guidelines.
  • Assist tenants and visitors by providing information, directions, and general support.
  • Coordinate with Property Managers to report hazards, maintenance issues, or security concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure the integrity of doors, gates, and other access points.
  • Support evacuation procedures and emergency preparedness protocols.
  • Maintain the overall orderliness and cleanliness of the properties.

Requirements:

  • A valid Saskatchewan Security License (mandatory)

Skills:

  • Access control management (monitoring entry/exit points)
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and security procedures
  • Patrolling and surveillance
  • Incident response and emergency handling
  • Report writing (incident reports, daily logs)
  • Threat assessment and risk identification
