About KIMARU Talent:
Founded in 2020, KIMARU Talent partners with VCs, founders, and executives to recruit top-tier talent for gaming studios and tech startups.
"KIMARU" is a Japanese verb meaning "to decide (a victory)," which reflects our belief that every great hire moves a company closer to its next win.
We believe that business growth starts with great people. With deep expertise in startup recruitment, we're proud to support our clients in making critical hiring decisions as they scale.
About Our Client
Our client is a fast-scaling interactive entertainment studio building some of the most played user-generated content experiences on the Roblox platform. With a fully remote global team and a portfolio that reaches over 145 million players each month, they're recognized as one of the most influential creators in the space.
Backed by top-tier investors, the company follows a unique strategy: acquiring and expanding promising in-platform games. Their approach is supported by significant funding from leading venture and growth equity firms.
About the Role
Our client is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join a small but impactful data team. This position goes far beyond dashboards—it's about uncovering meaningful insights that directly shape gameplay, guide product evolution, and influence decisions that affect millions of active players.
You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across Product, Design, and Marketing to inform decisions, optimize player journeys, and drive improvements through experimentation and analysis. This role is ideal for someone with a sharp analytical mind, strong business sense, and a passion for games.
Key Responsibilities
Mine and analyze large-scale player and gameplay datasets to uncover insights and opportunities to improve retention and monetization.
Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of in-game experiments and feature tests.
Create and maintain scalable, intuitive dashboards and reporting tools for use by cross-functional teams.
Deliver analysis that helps prioritize roadmap initiatives and inform feature development.
Work with engineering and product to ensure accurate data instrumentation and support clean, actionable data pipelines.
Conduct segmentation and behavior modeling to better understand player lifecycle and engagement patterns.
Analyze the performance of branded content and other third-party partnerships.
Contribute to improvements in data infrastructure using tools like SQL and dbt.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience in a data or analytics role, with at least 2+ years in the gaming industry.
Fluency in SQL and hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred).
Deep experience with A/B testing, including test design, statistical interpretation, and rollout recommendations.
Strong communication skills—able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Experience working with cloud data solutions (e.g., Snowflake).
Highly self-directed and comfortable in a fast-moving, iterative environment.
Bonus Points
Experience working with UGC (user-generated content) ecosystems or social game platforms.
Proficiency in Python for deeper analysis or scripting.
Understanding of free-to-play mechanics, player LTV modeling, or behavioral segmentation.
Prior experience in live ops or maintaining live service games.
Familiarity with dbt or other modern data transformation tools.
