In this role, you will report directly to the Manager, North of 60. You'll need to exercise supervisory skills, and you are responsible for accurate reporting, business planning and forecasting, to facilitate financial management decisions. You will also support the regulatory team with their reporting and filings.What You'll Do:Provide financial leadership for AEY, managing day-to-day accounting operations and helping to establish and maintain effective internal controls.Leading Financial Services team meetings to promote alignment and collaborationSupervising accounting staff and supporting their growth and developmentReviewing account reconciliations for accuracy and completenessPreparing, reviewing, and approving journal entriesReviewing fixed asset processes, including retirements and capitalizationsSupporting training and succession planning within the Financial Services teamConducting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedbackActing as the primary contact for internal and external audit activitiesOversee AEY's financial reporting function, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial and accounting information to support decision-making across the organization.Monthly management reporting including operational costs and capital expenditure reportingMonthly and quarterly reporting for executive leadershipAnnual Audited Financial StatementsAnnual Utility Financial Results for the Yukon Utilities Board and customer representativesLead AEY's planning and forecasting activities, ensuring business plans and forecasts are completed accurately and on time.Manage the Utility Financial Model and GRA coordination, including:Producing and maintaining AEY's Utility Financial ModelCoordinating GRA schedules and ensuring appropriate documentation and variance analysisSupporting the Manager, as directed, in AEY's GRA-related activitiesWhat You'll Bring:A post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field with a major in accounting is preferred.A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or CGA) is required, along with 5–7 years of progressive, relevant experience.Demonstrated leadership experience, with a proven ability to inspire, guide, and develop high-performing teams.A strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture, anticipate challenges, and make sound, forward-thinking decisions.Familiarity with the electric utility industry and its regulatory environment is a strong asset.Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a commitment to maintaining a healthy work-life balance.A natural relationship-builder who can collaborate effectively across departments and influence without authority.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently.What We Offer:A culture based on caring, integrity, agility, collaboration, and striving for excellence.Competitive compensationFlex benefitsTuition assistance programTraining and mentorship programsCharitable donation matchingWe would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
