GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Chef-F& B Manager at Moxy Ottawa Downtown is the heartbeat of the culinary and bar experience at Moxy Ottawa Downtown. In collaboration with the Regional Director of F&B, you'll oversee all food & beverage operations, from the kitchen to the Moxy Bar, ensuring that quality, style and service are always on point. You'll lead a crew that delivers memorable dining and drinking moments, drives guest satisfaction, and keeps operations efficient – all while turning up the fun.

WHO YOU ARE:

Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in culinary, F&B, or related professional area

  • OR 2-year degree/diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field and 3+ years' leadership experience

Preferred Extras

  • Experience with branded lifestyle hotels or trendy restaurants

  • Strong culinary background with proven menu creation and cost control skills

  • Knowledge of F&B systems and inventory management tools

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Bilingual (English/French) an asset

  • Experience in hotel opening, pre-opening environments, hotel renovation and brand conversion

(a big plus)

  • Energetic leader with strong communication and coaching skills

  • Experience in a unionized environment

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Lead with Energy

  • Implement corporate designed menus and beverage offerings that reflect the Moxy vibe-creative, fun and shareable

  • Be visible in the bar and dining areas-connect with guests, support the crew, and lead by example

  • Train, coach, and motivate the F&B crew to deliver consistent, memorable experiences

  • Celebrate wins and recognize individual and crew successes

Guest Satisfaction & Experience

  • Anticipate guest needs and take proactive steps to resolve issues

  • Keep the Moxy Bar buzzing and the dining experience playful and unforgettable

  • Monitor guest satisfaction results and create action plans to raise results

  • Promote and live the Moxy and Marriott Bonvoy service principles

  • Familiar with Marriott brand GSS, BSA and GXP

People Leadership

  • Hire, train, and develop F&B crew members with a focus on growth and inclusivity

  • Foster a collaborative, fun, and inclusive culture

  • Conduct performance reviews, and one-on-ones to build engagement

  • Apply policies fairly, document properly, and celebrate individual and crew achievements

Operations & Performance

  • Oversee kitchen and bar operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance

  • Manage F&B budgets, food costs, inventory and labour costs

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and brand standards

  • Build relationships with suppliers and partners to maintain quality and cost efficiency

  • Lead inspections, audits, compliance checks and training to keep standards high

  • Perform quarterly Marriott brand GFSA

  • Follow company standards, policies and procedures
