This is a contract position for Project Manager with a banking client in Toronto, Canada.The candidate needs to have valid work visa and attend the office 2-3 days a week in Toronto.Please share updated resume at & Program Management: Lead the planning, execution, and final delivery of major strategic programs involving technology, business processes, risk/policy, operations, and change management.Methodology & Governance: Formulate project plans using a combination of Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Ensure adherence to governance and process frameworks and maintain meticulous project documentation.Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, clients, and third-party vendors. Manage external vendors to ensure deliverables align with SOWs (Statements of Work) and drive alignment across multiple internal Lines of Business (LOBs).Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, document, and mitigate project risks, actions, and issues (RAID logs).Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, track costs, and oversee resource allocation, ensuring financial objectives are met.Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all projects meet banking regulations, data privacy, and financial reporting standards.Communication: Deliver comprehensive project status reports and executive-level communications to report on milestones, dependencies, and potential risks. Total Experience 10-15 YrsRelevant Experience 10+ years relevant experience in banking commercial cards domain experienceMandatory skills Preferred Skills & CertificationsPMP or PgMP, PRINCE2, CSM/Scrum Master, ITILAgile and Waterfall methodologies with strong analytical competencies (business case, ROI, KPI tracking)Financial acumen: budgeting, profitability analysis, IFRS exposureTools: JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, advanced Excel, data visualization, ETL knowledgeA Project Manager in the Banking Commercial Cards sector with 10-15 years of experience in Toronto typically involves leading complex, large-scale strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring project delivery within scope, time, and budget while maintaining regulatory compliance. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn full project lifecycle for Commercial Card programs (e.g., new product launches, platform integrations, issuing enhancements)Partner with Product, Tech, Operations, Finance, Legal, AML/KYC, and vendor teamsDefine scope, requirements, business rules, use cases, and data flows; guide stakeholder analysis Manage budgets, resource plans, schedules, tests, deployments, and escalationsMitigate risks, control changes, and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., FATCA, CRS, TAX, payment network rules)Deliver executive reports, KPIs, and maintain PMO governance standardsMentor junior PMs and champion best practices in Agile/Waterfall/PMBOK

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to $78.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Project manager: 10 years (preferred)
  • Commercial banking: 5 years (preferred)
  • Banking domain: 5 years (preferred)
  • IRA, Confluence, MS Project: 10 years (preferred)
  • IFRS exposure: 4 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • PMP or PgMP, PRINCE2, CSM/Scrum Master, ITIL (preferred)
