We never rest, nurturing our workforce to be the top tier in the industry, letting our clients experience peace of mind.The ideal candidate will be a client focused, highly professional with extensive experience in customer service within the real estate industry.Primary ResponsibilitiesProperty Tax ClaimsPromptly review new claims as assigned, specifically regarding real estate property tax claimsInitiate contact required to meet service levels with the insured or law firmClarify the details of the claim, review coverage under the applicable policyRequest further information/documentation as required to proactively adjudicate the claim and positively confirm or deny coverageConstruction-Related ClaimsOnce a Claims Counsel has accepted coverage on construction-related claims involving municipal enforcement, the claim will be transferred to the Resolution Specialist to determine resolution strategies, including working with contractors, engineers, and architects on obtaining quotes to resolve the claim.General DutiesRetain and instruct external professionals as needed (adjuster, lawyer, surveyor, appraiser, contractorsNegotiations of settlements, and review of files for potential recoveryFollow standard internal guidelines and processes with respect to file management, including naming conventions, efficient and orderly file entries, status updates, escalation process for coverage and denials, recording particulars in claims software, setting applicable reserves, requesting and making payments and closing completed files promptlyQualificationsLaw Clerk designationMinimum 5 years of experience as a real estate law clerk in a firm and/or title insurance environmentKnowledge and understanding of real estate practices, from start to finish, while understanding title issues and their resolutionSolid understanding and interpretation of current legal terminologyStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detailCTIC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package along with career growth opportunities with a Fortune 500 Company.BenefitsCompetitive Compensation PackageComprehensive Group Benefits Plan (Health and Dental)RRSP ProgramEmployee Stock Purchase PlanVacation and Personal Care daysRecognition for years of serviceAnnual Corporate Awards recognitionInterested candidates should forward their resume via e-mail to We thank all candidates for their interest but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.DisclaimerChicago Title is an equal opportunity employer.
