The Sandblaster is responsible for preparing truck bodies, frames, and components for painting and repair by removing rust, paint, and contaminants using approved blasting methods. This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of industrial equipment, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sandblasting on heavy-duty trucks, tanks, and components to specified standards.
  • Inspect surfaces to ensure proper cleaning and preparation for painting or repair.
  • Operate and maintain blasting equipment, compressors, and ventilation systems.
  • Mask, cover, or protect areas not to be blasted.
  • Keep blasting area clean, organized, and compliant with safety and environmental standards.
  • Assist with material handling, part movement, and shop organization as required.
  • Follow company procedures for PPE, equipment maintenance, and safe operation.
  • Prep for paint and masking.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in sandblasting, preferably in an industrial or heavy-duty setting.
  • Familiarity with blasting media, equipment operation, and surface preparation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting and prolonged standing.
  • Experience in a collision repair or paint prep environment is considered an asset.
