Position Overview
We are seeking a Coating Inspector / Coordinator to oversee coating operations at our Medicine Hat fabrication facility. The ideal candidate will bring proven inspection experience and hold a NACE Level 1 or AMPP Level 1 certification (or higher). This position plays a key role in ensuring all coating activities meet project specifications, quality requirements, and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of surface preparation and coating applications
- Verify compliance with client specifications, standards, and project ITPs
- Manage coating documentation, including reports, inspection records, and data packages
- Track individual pieces and maintain coating logs for all components
- Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and subcontractors to support project timelines
- Assist with coating procedure reviews and subcontractor performance
- Ensure adherence to Hranco's ISO 9001 and ASME Quality Management Systems
Qualifications
- NACE Level 1 or AMPP Level 1 certification (minimum requirement)
- Minimum 3 years of coating inspection or coordination experience in industrial or fabrication environments
- Strong knowledge of coating standards and quality documentation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
