Position Overview

We are seeking a Coating Inspector / Coordinator to oversee coating operations at our Medicine Hat fabrication facility. The ideal candidate will bring proven inspection experience and hold a NACE Level 1 or AMPP Level 1 certification (or higher). This position plays a key role in ensuring all coating activities meet project specifications, quality requirements, and documentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of surface preparation and coating applications
  • Verify compliance with client specifications, standards, and project ITPs
  • Manage coating documentation, including reports, inspection records, and data packages
  • Track individual pieces and maintain coating logs for all components
  • Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and subcontractors to support project timelines
  • Assist with coating procedure reviews and subcontractor performance
  • Ensure adherence to Hranco's ISO 9001 and ASME Quality Management Systems

Qualifications

  • NACE Level 1 or AMPP Level 1 certification (minimum requirement)
  • Minimum 3 years of coating inspection or coordination experience in industrial or fabrication environments
  • Strong knowledge of coating standards and quality documentation
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
