Our PurposeWe care for the financial needs and wellbeing of our members so you can focus on what matters most.Job Purpose & SummaryAs an MSR, you are often the first point of contact for our members. You'll take the time to understand their needs and proactively offer financial solutions that support their goals. This includes assisting with daily transactions, asking the right questions, identifying opportunities to refer to other specialists, and helping members make confident financial decisions. Your ability to build trust and provide clear, helpful guidance is key to strengthening long-lasting member relationships. Skill RequirementsRequired Experience:

  • 1 year of cash-handling experience in a retail environment;
  • 1 year of work experience in a financial services sales' environment preferred;
  • Strong technical and computer skills, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Prior banking/credit union experience preferred;
  • Must be bondable.

What you'd be doing:Member Service & Account Support
• Open and close member accounts with accuracy and professionalism
• Provide timely and courteous assistance to members via in-person, phone, or email communication
• Process bill payments, payroll deductions, and account splits with precision and adherence to HMECU guidelines
• Support members in setting up and navigating CU-Line and internet banking services
• Distribute member statements in a timely and organized manner
• Process personalized cheque orders and ensure correct routing to designated staff
• Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of all applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, and legislative requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Privacy regulations

Transactional Excellence & Operational Accuracy
• Ensure all member transactions are processed correctly, including RRSPs, term deposits, and account changes
• Balance daily cash drawer and outgoing cheque totals with attention to detail and accuracy
• Handle daily filing responsibilities, including loan documentation, RRSPs, and GIC paperwork
• Maintain accurate and complete member files in compliance with internal standards and audit requirements
• Perform clearing duties and other operational support tasks as required

Product Knowledge & Cross-Sell Opportunities
• Maintain current knowledge of HMECU's full suite of products and services
• Identify and act on cross-sell opportunities, recommending solutions tailored to member needs
• Sell and process primary cheques (bank drafts), US money orders, travellers' cheques, and travel insurance
• Solicit new business through member engagement and proactive discussion of financial solutions

Member Experience & Professional Communication
• Deliver exceptional service by understanding and anticipating member financial needs
• Engage in meaningful conversations with members to understand and address their specific financial goals and needs
• Communicate clearly and professionally with members, colleagues, and leadership across all channels
• Handle all interactions in accordance with HMECU's Privacy Policy and confidentiality standards
• Escalate potential or known concerns related to policies, procedures, or regulations to the appropriate Manager
