Junior Accountant

Vancouver, BC | Full-time, Permanent | Hybrid

We are recruiting on behalf of our client Page Two for a Junior Accountant to join their team. Based in the beautiful and vibrant Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Vancouver, BC, Page Two is looking for a Junior Accountant to become a pioneer in this growing company's accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant is responsible for handling full-cycle accounting activities such as recording A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The successful candidate will be proficient in Quickbooks Online, possess strong spreadsheet skills (Excel), have a solid familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, and be actively pursuing a CPA designation. Attention to detail and accuracy along with a passion for learning are a must.

What You'll Do

  • Perform full cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Prepare GST/HST, EHT and WCB returns.
  • Maintain billing and invoicing systems, ensuring that all documentation and records are accurately recorded and up to date;
  • Collaborate with the Controller to reconcile payments and resolve any invoicing or payment discrepancies;
  • Prepare regular reports on invoicing and payment status, providing insights to management on outstanding balances and collections efforts;
  • Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

  • At least 2 years of work experience, with 1 year of direct accounting-related experience
  • Actively pursuing CPA designation
  • Strong proficiency with Quickbooks Online and Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of work, including strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Adaptability to a changing environment
  • Exceptional organizational, written and spoken communication skills (English).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

What We Offer

  • Salary: $48,000 – $53,000 per year based on experience
    .
  • Comprehensive extended benefits plan (health, dental, and vision care, LTD, ADD and Life Insurance) after successful completion of 3-month probationary period.
  • 10 days of accrued paid vacation (increased to 15 days after 2 years), 4 paid flex days and 6 paid sick days per year.
  • Paid holiday closure between Christmas and New Year's.
