Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Canadian Tax Manager, with a requirement of minimum 3 set days in the office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tax planning projects (situations ranging from simple to complex), preparing and reviewing various tax returns (T1, T2, T3, HST, etc.), and handling Canada Revenue Agency requests as needed. The ideal candidate has experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO), will supervise, train and review the work of the staff, has extensive experience in Canadian tax management, strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
We are seeking a highly skilled and tech-savvy individual who is proficient in QBO and comfortable working across a variety of platforms and technologies. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, along with strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, as the candidate will need to integrate seamlessly into our business and begin handling client tasks immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and file various Canadian tax returns (T1, T2, T3, HST, etc.).
- Provide tax advisory services to clients, ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in business reorganization, estate planning, and other aspects of tax planning.
- Handle all interactions with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as required.
- Act as the main client contact, managing inquiries and providing service.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks as needed, to maintain accurate financial records.

- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Customer relationship management and persuasive communication skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tax Manager or similar role in the Canadian tax landscape.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations, with a minimum of 5 years work experience specializing in Canadian Tax.
- Outstanding English communication skills, with fluency in both speaking and writing.
- Experience with tax preparation and bookkeeping software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Hours: 40 hours a week standard; higher hours in busier times
