Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Duties

  • Meet to Government of Alberta Guidelines of reaching at least 900 patient panel, providing after-hours access on weekends, evenings or holidays. (Full-time or Part-time week hours available) and complete the Expression of Interest Form:
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clinical findings and patient preferences.
  • Provide acute and chronic disease management, including medication administration and monitoring.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations, including ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Administer treatments such as IV infusions, botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatments as needed.
  • Manage patient care in various settings including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, nursing homes, and assisted living environments.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care across different services including geriatrics, pediatrics, internal medicine, and behavioral health.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and utilize EMR/EHR systems effectively (Healthquest).
  • Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and advance medical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a valid state license.
  • Experience in primary care settings with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care.
  • Proficiency in essential clinical skills including suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheterization, airway management, and emergency procedures.
  • Familiarity with coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10/CPT) for accurate medical documentation.
  • Previous experience in critical care environments (ICU/PICU) or emergency medicine is preferred.
  • Knowledge of geriatrics, pediatrics, infectious disease care, pain management, and behavioral health is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia.
  • Experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education opportunities.
