StoneRidge Insurance Brokers is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst who excels at supporting internal stakeholders by analyzing numbers, coordinating with teams, and providing actionable insights and recommendations. You'll play a key role in driving informed decision-making, fostering collaboration, and maintaining accurate, well-organized data, all within a culture that values professional growth and continuous learning.

Position: Senior Actuarial Analyst

Job Type: Hybrid (2 days in office), Full Time, Permanent

Work Location: Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada

Pay: From $100,000 annually

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze insurer performance data (loss ratios, premium growth, retention, and margins) and monitor loss development and reserve adequacy.

  • Develop, validate, and maintain actuarial models to support compensation forecasting, profitability analysis, and strategic reviews.

  • Collaborate with FP&A, underwriting, and finance teams to align forecasts with financial plans and provide cross-functional actuarial support.

  • Prepare reports, executive summaries, and dashboards for strategic meetings and monthly operational tracking.

  • Ensure data quality, reporting accuracy, and maintain documentation of models, assumptions, and methodologies for audit and review.

  • Participate in insurer meetings, training, onboarding, and escalate issues or risks identified through analysis as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with expertise in actuarial modeling and data interpretation.

  • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills; experience with SQL or Python is an asset.

  • Knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance, including loss ratios, reserve analysis, and forecasting.

  • Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail, data accuracy, and strong organizational skills in developing methodologies and models.

  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental and external stakeholder engagement.

Education & Experience:

  • FSA or FCIA (preferred)

  • University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field is required.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in actuarial science with a focus in the P&C insurance industry.

  • Knowledge and experience with multiple BMS (including EPIC, Power Broker & TAM) is an asset.
