Join Our Team – Class 1 Driver Opportunity

We are currently seeking a reliable and professional Class 1 driver to join our dedicated driving team at Stromsten Transportation Group Ltd. This role involves both local and out-of-town assignments, depending on contract requirements, offering variety and consistent work throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe handling of cargo, ensuring all loads are properly secured by preparing equipment, adhering to established safety procedures, and complying with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle and equipment inspections before, during, and after trips to confirm safety, roadworthiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to all applicable legislation, including safe vehicle operation, load securement, driver hours of service, occupational health and safety standards, transportation of dangerous goods, and legal weight and dimension limits.
  • Review, complete, and maintain all required documentation, such as bills of lading, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilize in-cab technology (e.g., on-board Electronic Log Device, CB radios, telephones) to communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other drivers.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records of driving hours, vehicle servicing, and repair activities.
  • Interact professionally and respectfully with customers, colleagues, and the public always.

You Possess:

  • A positive attitude, demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.
  • A valid Class 1 truck driver's license, with a clean driving record and the ability to operate heavy commercial vehicles across various terrains.
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Screening and Criminal Record Check, ensuring compliance with workplace safety and health standards.
  • At least two professional job references, confirming your experience, work ethic, and reliability in transportation or related roles.
  • Super-B Side Dump experience (required), with proven skill in handling complex trailer configurations safely and efficiently.
  • Mountain driving experience, showcasing your capability to navigate challenging routes and weather conditions with confidence and control.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Pay: $34.00-$38.00 per hour
