We are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our HSE Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the day-to-day tasks of the HSE department and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of ACSA COR and OHS legislation. This position places a strong focus on all administrative duties related to GCI's HSE Department, and requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, proficiency in time management, intermediate computer skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. A passion for people and wellness is imperative, as well as empathy and the ability to maintain employee confidences. Although your primary responsibility will be HSE there may be additional support required as requested by GCI's Operations Manager.

Requirements Skillset:

  • A self-starter with prior experience in HSE
  • Thorough understanding of ACSA COR Requirements
  • Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Conducting Orientations
  • Possesses an understanding of OHS requirements, and Alberta Employment Standards
  • Ability to speak to staff during quarterly safety meetings
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Health & Safety required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Effective Communication in all forms (verbal, written, listening) are essential.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Pro, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, SiteDocs
  • Ability to keep company, staff, and partner confidences
  • Experience completing internal COR Audits

Required Qualifications:

  • ACSA HSA, NHSA, or NCSO certified
  • Certified ACSA COR Auditor with internal audit experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • CSTS2020, WHMIS, and First Aid

NOTE: A vehicle is required to commute to our location. Public transportation is not available at this time.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
