Women Business Enterprises Canada Council (WBE Canada) is a Canadian non-profit organization that is opening doors for Canadian women-owned businesses to supply chains across Canada, North America and globally. We are committed to promoting supplier diversity. We provide certification to Canadian companies that are majority-owned, managed and operated by women. Through our network, we connect these businesses with corporate and government buying opportunities, while also providing them with the resources and knowledge they need to conduct transactions with larger organizations.
This qualified professional must enjoy working as part of a collaborative virtual team but is very capable of completing assigned tasks independently. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing & Business Growth and works closely in collaboration with our Business Development team. You will play a key role in building strong relationships with our corporate members to support and nurture their priorities while maximizing their engagement with our certified women-owned businesses (WBEs).
The role is proactive and ensures consistent and regular outreach activities, communication, sponsorship and delivery of support in order to ensure membership value and enhance retention.
About the Role
As a key member of our Business Growth team, you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Corporate Engagement
- Develop and execute strategies to engage and support corporate members in achieving their supplier diversity initiatives;
- Serve as a key point of contact for corporate members, building strong relationships, understanding needs, and identifying opportunities for growth and uncovering opportunities to introduce additional services and expanded membership offerings;
- Organize and collaborate with internal WBE Canada teams to deliver member and partner onboarding, education, and resources to enhance engagement;
- Work with the Director of Marketing & Business Growth to ensure deliverables are fulfilled;
- Collaborate with WBE Canada team members to ensure a smooth integration of new Corporate Members and Partners from initial onboarding, retention, and deliverable setup of sponsorships;
- Support and respect the Corporate Membership application and renewal process, acting as the primary contact for potential Corporate Members;
- Support and analyze Corporate Member and Sponsor performance; present statistical analyses to senior leaders quarterly during QBR;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create opportunities for corporate members to connect with certified women-owned businesses;
- Gather regular feedback in review calls from corporate members to refine and enhance WBE Canada's offerings and programs;
- Oversee the retention and renewal of WBE Canada corporate members;
- Support the Business Development team with potential new opportunities and provide support with outreach as required;
- Represent WBE Canada at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to promote supplier diversity;
- Actively support the planning, preparation and production of all In-Person Corporate Events including the National Conference and other events are needed;
- Execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Sponsorships:
- Work with the Director of Finance & Operations & Director of Marketing & Business Growth as you lead the entire sponsorship lifecycle, from initial outreach and proposal development to successful deal closure.
- Proactively identify, research, and evaluate potential sponsorship opportunities for corporate members, partners (e.g., industry events, conferences, thought leadership platforms, co-marketing initiatives) that align with our brand values and target audience.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers of our corporate members and partners as you serve as their point of contact to ensure the delivery of member onboarding, education, and resources is completed;
- Oversee the successful execution and activation of all sponsorship agreements, ensuring deliverables are met, ROI is maximized, and brand guidelines are adhered to.
- Drive, measure and report on pipeline progression
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Business Development, Finance, Community, Operations and Marketing to ensure seamless integration, collection, alignment, and support for sponsorship deliverables/initiatives.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for all sponsorships, regularly track performance, analyze results, and provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Actively maintain relationships with any current sponsors, industry contacts or future sponsorship prospects
- Proactively identify and manage critical issues; demonstrate resilience and adapt to evolving plans and strategies; where conflicting issues on sponsorship arise, able to find solutions along with the internal team
Data & Reporting
- Provide regular reporting on KPIs and annual targets; presenting to Senior Leadership Team on a monthly basis;
- Track industry trends to provide insights that guide WBE Canada strategies to continue to be innovative and provide fresh educational content;
Maintain detailed records of member interactions and engagement metrics to support reporting and continuous improvement;
Implement a robust measurement framework to assess sponsorship ROI, brand impact, and audience engagement. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years in business management, corporate engagement, customer success or account management role (with proven experience)
- Strong knowledge of supplier diversity, procurement, or corporate social responsibility is a significant asset
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to meeting or exceeding the expectations and requirements of both internal and external stakeholders
- Approachable, professional and adept in establishing connections, fostering inclusivity, and building rapport
- Exhibits exceptional time management skills, effectively managing tasks and leveraging resources to meet goals; adept at supporting multiple team members and adjusting priorities as needed
- Self-motivated and collaborative, with a passion for creating positive impact.
- A problem solver that can analyse issues to ensure deliverables are achieved and issues are resolved.
- Proficient in exchanging clear, concise, and audience-tailored verbal and written communication to ensure understanding and alignment priorities as needed
- Is reliable and consistently executes and delivers on commitments; paying close attention to details to ensure error-free communication and work
- Familiarity with CRM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience working in a not-for-profit environment is preferred
- Experience working remotely in a virtual setting is a benefit
