What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Core Banking and Payments team. You'll support complex projects to design strategic solutions aligned to CIBC's enterprise architecture roadmap. As a Sr Business Systems Analyst, you'll support end-to-end Client and vendor support as a subject matter expert in both business and technology. You'll ideate and collaborate with a diverse team to create and set up flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-2 day per week on-site, while other days will be remote. 

How you'll succeed

  • Understanding and documenting requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complicated business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Solution design - Assemble client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Communication and Relationships - Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, business team and peers. Demonstrate very strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in:  2-4 years working as a Business Systems Consultant/Analyst, preferably within the Financial Services industry (Payments/Fraud) with an emphasis on stakeholder relationship management.  You are proficient with SQL/Database queries, using Azure DevOps and have previously supported Agile/Scrum based projects.  Ideally, you have excellent documentation skills, a collaborative mindset, the flexibility to jump in to support testing as needed and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field.
